ABOUT ABOUT

What does it take to be elected President of the United States? In this fun camp, Polk's career in all three branches of government, his laws, trials and more will be discussed through the lens of civics and leadership. Campers will learn about the working of government through Polk's achievements, and recreate some of the exciting features of his career, including mock trials, designing a campaign for governor and more. In addition to engaging activities, campers will hear from local and state lawmakers and craft their own stump speech!

Polk Academy runs from 9am-2pm daily with drop off and pick up occuring at the Sister's House Visitor's Center. Campers should pack a water bottle and lunch daily, in addition to applying sunscreen, bug spray or any other needed products before camp. Snacks will be provided daily and campers should expect to be outside daily.

Full refund available one month before camp, with partial refunds being available until two weeks prior to camp's start date. Contact Jaryn Abdallah at [email protected] with any questions.
